How to reach the switch#

The Netgear GS110TPv3 is managed through the primary UniFi LAN.

1. Connect the Netgear switch uplink to an available port on a UniFi network switch.

2. Use the Netgear’s g1 port as the uplink. It carries the management LAN and tagged VLANs.

3. In the UniFi Network application, configure the UniFi uplink port with:

   • Native Network: LAN (1)
   • Tagged VLAN Management: Allow All (or an equivalent trunk profile)
   • STP: enabled/Auto; BPDU Guard disabled

4. From a device on the same LAN, browse to:

   http://10.1.0.50

The UniFi gateway for this LAN is 10.1.0.1.

The switch’s management MAC is 54:07:7D:2A:DA:8E. In the Netgear Address Table it appears on the internal c1 interface with status Management. UniFi may temporarily display another Netgear MAC, but the DHCP reservation should remain associated with the management MAC above.

Important connection detail#

The switch was inaccessible until its UniFi uplink port was assigned to LAN (1). If it cannot be reached again, verify the physical uplink is connected to g1, the UniFi port’s native network/profile, and that the UniFi port reaches STP Forwarding.

Use only one network uplink from the Netgear unless a deliberate LAG is configured. A second path can cause an STP loop and make UniFi block the uplink.

Managing port VLANs#

In the Netgear web interface, open:

Switching → VLAN → VLAN → VLAN Configuration (Advanced)

This page shows and edits each port’s PVID, VLAN members, tagged VLANs, and untagged VLANs.

To configure a normal camera/access port for the Cameras VLAN:

1. Select the port, for example g7.
2. Click Edit.
3. Set PVID to 14.
4. Set VLAN member to 14.
5. Leave VLAN Tag empty (untagged access port).
6. Leave Acceptable Frame as Admit All and Ingress Filtering as Disable, matching the working camera port.
7. Click Save, then click Apply on the main page.

The working camera ports are:

• g7: PVID 14, untagged VLAN 14, no tagged VLANs
• g8: PVID 14, untagged VLAN 14, no tagged VLANs

The Netgear uplink g1 carries the management and tagged VLANs. Do not use a camera access port as the uplink.

For general port administration, use Switching → Ports → Port Configuration. This page controls admin mode, auto-negotiation, speed, duplex, link status, and frame size.

If the UniFi uplink becomes STP-blocked after connecting a device, disconnect the downstream device and test one port at a time. Check for a second cable, a loop through another switch, or a device with two network connections. Do not disable STP to bypass the block.
