Backup Strategies#

1. Backrest & Restic Google Drive Backup#

Encrypts TrueNAS/DSM network shares with Restic and stores them in Google Drive through Rclone. See Backrest & Restic Google Drive Backup Setup.

2. Proxmox PBS Backup to Google Drive#

Synchronizes the deduplicated PBS datastore from the UNAS-Pro NAS to Google Drive through MMDocker and Rclone. See Proxmox - PBS Backups via NAS with to GDrive.

3. UNAS-Pro to TrueNAS Rsync Pull Backups#

TrueNAS nodes pull shared data from UNAS-Pro on staggered hourly schedules into local ZFS datasets. See Unifi UNAS-Pro Backup Strategy.

4. Local PBS Datastore on UNAS-Pro#

Proxmox VE sends deduplicated VM and LXC backups to HP1BackupServer, which stores the PBS datastore on the UNAS-Pro ProxmoxBackups share. See Proxmox Backup Server - Mounting an SMB NAS Share as a PBS Datastore.

5. Proxmox Host Configuration Backups#

Each Proxmox host archives its configuration and identity daily to the UNAS-Pro Software/PVEBackups share for later restoration. See Proxmox - Node Backup and Restore.

6. Pangolin VPS Pull Backups#

Proxmox LXC 102 pulls the Pangolin VPS configuration over SSH into local incremental and archived backups with integrity checks. See Pangolin Backup.
